Virtualisation

The Problem - Customers old laptop dies, just as they need it to operate a piece of mobile equipment at a tourist event.

The Laptop ran Windows 98, which is what the adaptor was set for.
So we rushed in, and installed Microsoft Virtual PC, installed Windows 98, set the LPT, and COM port to be used by the virtual PC. And off they went to the event with a PC, running Windows XP to do some stuff, with windows 98 virtualised and controlling a piece of machinery.

The only additional thing we did, was add some more memory, after all it only had 256Mb and also had shared memory for the graphics.
